Sin Destoyers "Presents For the Earth"

You may be totally offended. I was.

You may be a bit frightened. I was.

You may seriously consider the totally screwy theology contained therein and become depressed when you realize that there are people who think this way for real. I was.

You may laugh your head off. I didn't. Except for one startled outburst.

You may find the animation rather impressive. I did.

Oh, boy. Oh boy.

Well, satire often offends and frightens. But I thought it was pretty funny. I'd like to send it to a few people, if I thought they'd get it.

Hello, Mrs. Peacebang. This is indeed a scary bit of film. All I can think of, is something a young Tim Burton would have done in a first year cinema arts class, having viewed the Bible only through the eyes of the fallen world. This kind of image of The Lord Jesus is exactly why we so badly need good Biblicaly sound theology in the public domain today.

I was surprised by the comments of the people who thought it was great.

You know, Adam getting his rib back and Eve disappearing was cleverly amusing. And seeing a giraffe play a guitar is not something you see every day either...

But a bit frightening and totally offensive pretty much does sum it up.

It ends with "to be continued" will there be an Easter sequel? *sigh*

I wasn't offended at all. Their music was terrible! "Hell to the losers, gifts to the winners!" Ha! Isn't hell going to be where all the rockin' tunes are?

Wow; on the one hand mocking religion disturbs me, but the more I study Christian doctrine and theology, the more I find it disturbing. Since it's such a big force in our culture, sometimes I think it's easier (though not necessarily justified) to make fun of its shortcomings than to do so with other religions.

I think what offended me the most was the Cross zooming off into space while exploding with blood.

Horrible.

I just don't like mocking someone's brutal execution. It's not Jesus' fault that subsequent generations made bizarre doctrines out of his death. I think he was just trying to make meaning of it in the larger cosmic (and Biblical) scheme of things. I don't want to become so desensitized to the Crucifixion that I can freely laugh at this stuff.

Oversoul, while it is easy to be disturbed by, and make fun of what you may not understand, don`t` let what you might be missing concerning God`s Word, mislead you into thinking that it falls short of everything you need to know about Salvation in The Lord Jesus Christ.

PB:

"I think what offended me the most was the Cross zooming off into space while exploding with blood."

I didn't even make it that far; it was so stupid that I couldn't finish it.

"I just don't like mocking someone's brutal execution."

EXACTLY.

MKZ:

With all due respect, I have a very solid knowledge of Christianity, its history, its teachings, and its theology; I'm not missing anything.

oversoul, I examined your blogsite before posting my comment. I also reread your last post. I did not mean to imply that you were uneducated, forgive me brother if it sounded that way. However, having knowledge and having Faith are often two very different animals. If you truly find the Word of God disturbing, I will pray for you, that God would grace you with greater faith than you have today.

No worries MKZ, I wasn't offended or upset in any way.

I already have a deep and real faith in God, but if you want to pray for it to be greater than it is, all the better.

Amen oversoul, in Jesus Name.

Thanks for the link. I found it amusing, exploding gingerbread house, blowing up the overly saccharine aspects of commercial Christmas. Jesus as Santa Claus.
