The men in my family are toughies. My dad and his brothers were. Their father and his brothers were. And my cousins are tough with their kinder.
But looking over these images from Marvin's funeral, I can't help but notice: wotta bunch of total mush-hearts.

I can still get Brandon to hold my hand when we go out walking . . . sometimes.
Today, we were walking hand in hand to go pick up his sister, just the two of us guys, and I started thinking, "Not much longer before I'm the embarrasing Dad. Better enjoy this while it lasts."
Sometimes -- only sometimes -- I wish they wouldn't grow up.
My Dad used to always say, "Give me your paw."
I caught myself saying it to my nephew recently and choked up.
