Aiming For One Date in 2005

I just sent out another five or six flirty e-mails to men in Yahoo.com personals. I am not giving up just because the last five or six I sent went totally ignored. I am bound and determined to have at least one date in 2005!!

I have over 40 days left. I know I can do it. And I know you can help. Feel free to fly in friends from around the country. We can achieve this goal.

Quit whining and click here.

And check out Ecclesiastes 11:1. 40 days is a big deal in Hebrew scripture, so there's hope.

I would just like you all to know that I wrote a letter offering myself as a date to Keith Olbermann, okay!??

Will yours stand out from all the others and make the all-important connection in Keith's mind that says, "WTF? I must meet this woman!"? We're not talking about a tentative, maybe-yes, maybe-no, low-stakes youth con hookup here. Dire times call for dire measures. You need a full-bore marketing campaign, not a timid overture. Think like Karl Rove does when he's trying to persuade Patrick Fitzgerald.

Write again. Link to you blog. Send him videos of Sweet the Sound and Little Compton to use as filler on his program, but also tell him why you don't allow goats at flower communion. Tell him about litterboxcam. Tell him you don't care if he lauds Fox Channel on his blog, but he better not run any Royal Bank of Scotland commercials on his show. Offer to cook him a nice UU-eclectic Turducken with all the trimmings, to honor his outrage about New Orleans. Ask Forrest Church to buttonhole him if he shows up at All Souls to tell him you've got the stage presence of Liza Minelli, the sharp wit of Gracie Allen, and the social conscience of Mother Teresa.

Oops. While I was posting from work, PB sent me an e-mail at home that reveals why no second effort ought to be necessary after all.

'Who is this that hideth counsel without knowledge?' I have spoken of things that I knew not, things too wonderful for me to know; therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. Job 42:3,6
